In November 08 Mike Beatty and Chris Turner of Pulse Marketing travelled to Uganda to make a documentary about the Children of Gulu in Uganda. UPDATE NOV Feb 1st: Thank you to all those that made it possible for us to travel to Uganda in November 08 to make a documentary about the people of Gulu. We managed to raise all of the money through invoicing and some very kind donations from some industry friends including, Sherbourn, Runco and Twentieth Century Fox.We set out to invite a presenter and with help from another industry friend, found an American sports correspondent who spoke the local language and proved to be a great help and support. The sewing machines were purchased and are being shipped very soon. The class was delighted when they were told and this will clearly make a huge difference to the lives of these amazing children. The football match went down a treat and an 11 aside game ended in a 1-0 win to England.Michael Donn (our video companion and friend for the trip) is working hard to turn the 10 hours of video in a 15 minute documentary, which will be completed by the end of February 09 - We plan to send it to schools and businesses and have it available to view online. The video will help to raise money and awareness for this deserving cause. All of the extra money will go into the edukid pot and used to help children with their education. You'll see some photos of the trip on the following site:

UPDATE! We now know It costs just £30 to buy a sewing machine and transport it all the way to Northern Uganda. 120 sewing machines means 60 can remain in the classroom for students to use for years to come, and the form just graduating will each have a machine to help them find work and an income. That’s £3,600 total - £2800 already raised. Funds to buy 120 sewing machines required. There is a vocational project we are visiting for girls who were abducted and routinely abused during the war.The physical and emotional effects of their experience prevents them from entering mainstream education, and so they are being taught tailoring. A class of 60 currently shares just 6 machines, and once they finish their course they will have no machine to find work. We want to ensure that every girl who studies has access to a machine, and when they leave we want them to own one so that they can find work and earn an income. We know It costs just £40 to buy a sewing machine and transport it all the way to Northern Uganda. 120 sewing machines means 60 can remain in the classroom for students to use for years to come, and the form just graduating will each have a machine each to help them find work and an income. That’s £4,800 total. |

| Buy 100 football kits. The plan is to help put some fun back into their lives, and let them be children again. You could even pay extra and get your company name printed on them! Not sure of the costs, but we should expect to pay around £20 -£30 per football kit | |
| We would like to acquire the services of a current or ex-premier league Footballer or well known celebrity to come along to be the face of the documentary. |
There will be those who can help with donations and those who may have contacts to help to find the required ingredients for the trip.
